  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Land Manager, this position will negotiate, draft, implement, monitor and administer all types of Land related agreements/ contracts relative to the onshore US including title verification, due diligence, acquisitions and surface settlements for field operations for the company’s assets as needed.

    Responsibilities

    E.        Education Level and Field of Study Requirements:

    ·       Related Bachelors or higher degree (PLM or EM degree a plus) with 5+ years in-house experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience

    ·       Broad-based knowledge of all facets of production land work

    ·       Knowledge of Oil & Gas law, real estate law, contract law and general knowledge of Federal, State, or other regulatory requirements, laws, rules, and regulations.

    ·    

    F.      Experience Requirements:  Technical Skills, Business Knowledge, and Other Experience Requirements:

    ·       Familiar with staking and permitting of wells, including, but not limited to BLM, State and other issues related to the staking and permitting of wells.

    ·       Solid understanding of US mineral and surface ownership principles including regulatory, title and curative documents.

    G.  B   Behavioral competencies:   

    ·       Computer literate with proven ability to utilize Microsoft Office products and familiarity with land system software.

    ·       Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.

    ·

    H .  .  Key Deliverables: 

    ·       Negotiate and prepare various lease agreements, surface use agreements, easements, rights of way road use and cost sharing agreements, with industry partners, competitors, and land owners.

    ·       Analysis and recommendations relative to the negotiation and drafting of complex agreements, and close those agreements with industry partners, competitors, and land owners.

    ·       Direct activities of contract brokers to achieve timely results in support of drilling program.

    ·       Settling surface and crop damage claims with surface owners.

    ·       Represent the company in dealing with surface owners, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), or state agencies in a fair and equitable manner.

    ·       Provide all Land support to assigned areas of

    ·       responsibility with technical peers and other departments in support of company`s active program.

    ·       Title verification for drilling operations and due diligence for roll-up and acquisitions

    I .      Key Performance Situations:   

    ·       Must be self starter, conscientious, team oriented professional and flexible, work with or without supervision, and able to take a lead role in any project where appropriate. Strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
